Pinot Blanc Kristallberg 2022 - 13,5% vol. Elena Walch Winery

Description: 
The Pinot Bianco „Kristallberg“ is a wine of great minerality. Presenting a clear, fresh straw yellow and a bouquet of fruity aromas with fresh pears and white stone fruits, as well as spicy notes with green walnuts and smoky and mineral aromas in the background. Elegant on the palate, but with juicy freshness, youthful vitality and stirring acidity, this partially barrel-fermented wine is an exciting new addition!

Pinot Bianco  - South Tyrol Alto Adige DOC. 

Production area: 
The grapes of the Pinot Bianco Kristallberg come from vineyards in Altenburg at 600m above sea level, where they benefit from the excellent climatic conditions. Altenburg lies between Tramin/Termeno and Kaltern/Caldaro on the ridge of the Mendel Mountains above Lake Kaltern. The porphyry terrace, which forms the basis of this vineyard, rests on a predominantly volcanic rock slab and has numerous smaller and larger crystals of quartz, biotite and other minerals. 

Vinification: 
Gentle pressing, followed by a static clarification through must refrigeration. Fermentation partially takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 20°C. 40% of the must is fermented in small wooden barrels of 25 hl each, 20% in French oak barriques, the rest in steel tanks where it matures for 5 months. Assemblage takes place in spring the following year. 

Food Pairing: 
It is recommended with hearty first courses, white meats, poultry dishes or fresh cheese. 

Serving temperature: 
13 - 15°C.

more than 5 years.
