Description

Description:
Delicate bouquet of black cherries underlines its noble character. The palate is presented with well-balanced tannins and a pleasant full-bodiedness. A wine with a pleasant flavour and long persistence.

Grape varierty:
Pinot Noir - Alto Adige DOC

Production area:
The grapes come from an estate vineyard on the STROBLHOF in the municipality of Eppan, in the Pigeno area, 500 metres above sea level. The vineyards face south-east. 70% of the grapes were vinified as Pinot Noir P!GENO, the rest as Riserva.

Vinification:
Maceration and fermentation in oak vats for 24 days with three pumpovers per day in the first week. Maturation in French barriques from the first to the fourth passage for 12 months, further ageing in large 30 hl oak casks for 8 months. Followed by a further 8 months of bottle ageing.

Food pairing:
It is an excellent accompaniment to strong meat dishes, game and spicy cheese. The more intense the wine, the more complex the dishes can be.

Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.

Bottle size:
1500 ml - 150 cl - 1,5 lt. magnum bottle

Allergens:
wine can contain sulphites.

Producer:
Stroblhof Winery
We continue to work hard at this farm – both in the vineyards and the cellars – with the single minded scope of producing top quality wine. The low and select production allows us to guarantee the high quality of the wines. In fact, from 5.5 hectares, we only produce a maximum of 40,000 bottles, half of which is white, the other red. The altitude of 500 meters above sea level is an additional advantage to producing wines of unique character, good acidity, and with a good aging potential.

In its youth, it is still wild. Once the stage of maturity for consumption has been reached, however, it becomes truly enthralling, with delicate mountain apple and lemon balm. The bouquet is unobtrusive, evoking the delicate fragrance of the flowers that sprout from crevices above the tree line.  A careful passage through wood lends the wine a suppler...
