Description:
Intense ruby red colour, it has precise aromas typical of pinot noir, with hints of blackberry and cloves. In the mouth it has a soft and succulent attack, velvety tannins, and good persistence.

Production area:
Tirolo, Cermes on 500 - 550 m. Sandy, clayey soil, enriched with humus, granite and gneiss, light, permeable soil of morainic origin.
Vinification:
Temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation takes place in a wide-entrance vat where the must is stirred for about 10 - 15 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in small oak barrels and used barriques.
Food pairing:
Ideal with game in general, suckling lamb, roast rabbit and hard cheeses.
Serving temperature:
14 - 16°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.

The Winery Merano Burggräfler arose from the merger of two traditional wineries: the Winery Merano and the Winery Burggräfler. A total of 370 members, small and micro producers, cultivate about 250 hectares of the best vineyards in Merano and the surrounding areas Lagundo, Tirolo, Caines, Rifiano, Scena, Marlengo, Cermes, Lana and the Val Venosta Valley. Thanks to their combined strenght the winegrowing in the western part of South Tyrol obtains a new and interesting profile.
