Description

Description:
Dark ruby red, scent of ripe cranberries and blackberries, soft and full on the palate. The Lagrein from the soil expresses the special character of the soil. It is a velvety, fruity, round, powerful and at the same time soft wine, which shows refinement and elegance as well as structure and body. It is highly appreciated as it is an excellent ambassador of the terroir, which essentially shapes its character.

Grape varierty:
Lagrein - South Tyrol DOC

Production area:
With the addition of "vom Boden" (from the soil), the Pfannenstiel winery wants to express its appreciation of the soil on which this Lagrein grows. It is a deep, warm sandy and gravelly soil that was washed up by the Eisack river and is responsible for the velvety - soft, pleasant character of the Lagrein from the Pfannenstielhof. The Lagrein from the soil grows on Pergeln.

Vinification:
After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed with great care and the maceration takes place at controlled temperature for about 11 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in medium-sized wooden barrels.

Food pairing:
It is fruity, balanced and full-bodied, making it a suitable companion to game dishes, grilled or roasted meats and mature cheeses.

Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.

Bottle size:
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.

Allergens:
wine can contain sulphites.

Producer:
Pfannenstielhof Winery
The Pfannenstielhof is located in the valley on the eastern border of Bolzano, in the middle of the vineyards. It is a pure red wine company with the two characteristic wines S. Maddalena and Lagrein. We operate natural and integrated viticulture. This also includes careful manual work, whether for winter pruning, defoliation, yield reduction or grape harvesting. We are particularly attached to the land on which our vines grow and, guided by our hands, we want to make the most of it. We consider it our task to capture the uniqueness of our soils in wine and to produce quality wines typical of the place and of the variety, which impress with their authenticity and individuality.
