Description:
This wine has a very deep golden yellow colour. The dominant scents on the nose are honey and dried fruit with some hints of citrus. Great fullness and balance in the mouth, enhancing notes of honey and yellow flowers.
Grape variety:
Garganega - Recioto di Soave DOCG.
Production area:
The grapes are selected from the oldest vineyards between Monte Zoppega and Monte Tondo.
Vinification:
The pressing takes place in March, so the must yield after 5 months of drying is very low, often less than 30%, but with a very high sugar content. The fermentation takes place entirely in barriques and ends spontaneously. The wine always matures on the yeast in barriques until the end of December, then it is taken out of the wood and blended. Before being bottled, it rests in steel for a few months. It remains in the bottle for about a year before going on sale.

Our family’s roots have been in Monteforte d’Alpone in Verona for hundreds of years. The company can count on around 14ha of land, most of which constitute a historical core. In almost all the vineyards the average vine age is around 40/50 years. The Soave district is one of the most important wine-producing areas both within the region and in Italy. It was considered as the first typical production zone, bordered off in 1931 and recognised by Royal decree in 1936 as the first DOC area in the Veneto region (1968) and the first DOCG zone of the Veneto (with Recioto wine, in 1998). The NARDELLO Company vineyards are located between Mount Zoppega at Monteforte and Mount Tondo at Soave, both within the Soave Classico zone, the area designated to have the best characteristics for producing excellent Soave wines. In geographical terms, these two hills represent the extreme southern border of the classic zone and this is what gave us the idea for the name of the company’s first Soave Classico.
